About The Event

Little did we know what drama would unfold when Council members and Thos. Moser guests gathered on October 3rd to discuss Saudi Arabia.

On Friday, January 25th we invite you to join us for a special “After Khashoggi” coffee and discussion group led by former Ambassador David Pearce. We’ll discuss the events leading up to Khashoggi’s murder and the implications of his death for Saudi Arabia’s internal stability and external relations. We encourage you to read Ambassador Pearce’s recent blog on the topic.

Our coffee and discussion groups are typically limited to 12 participants, however, we’re opening this opportunity up to 25 guests. Seats are first come, first served and only being offered to those who attended the October 3rd event.

We will be collecting suggested donations ($10) at the door to benefit our 2019 Model UN Initiative with Deering High School. Special thanks to Thos. Moser for providing the beautiful space and refreshments (coffee and pastries!).

Now retired to Maine and California, Ambassador David Pearce served as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece and Algeria, the Assistant Chief of Mission at the U.S. embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, and as the Deputy United States Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pearce entered the Foreign Service in January 1982, serving first as a vice consul and political officer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has spent most of his career in the Middle East was the Council’s 2017 Annual Meeting speaker.

While at the studio, we invite you to enjoy “Maine’s Four Seasons For Art” a new exhibit opening in January. Ambassador Pearce has six watercolors hanging in the show.
