Hosting meaningful discussions on current world affairs
At the World Affairs Council of Maine, we create the space for the exchange of knowledge and ideas on today's pressing global topics. Attend a presentation, or join lunchtime and after-hours discussions on a range of cross-cultural and international issues. We invite you to join our next event.
Supporting Mainers to become global citizens
Our goal is to provide educational opportunities to Maine people of all ages. Through our WorldQuest program, high schoolers compete on their knowledge of global affairs, while our Great Decisions courses at the Osher Lifelong Institute provide the opportunity to study multifaceted international issues in an academic setting.
Building relationships through international connections
We believe that relationships and community are key components of global citizenship. We create opportunities for exchange and build community through our monthly discussion groups, special events, and our Know Your Neighbor series. The IVLP program fosters connections with rising leaders from around the world.
