World Affairs Council of Maine: Sharing	a World of Perspectives

Programs : International Breakfast Series

The Council organizes four International Breakfast programs annually, covering a wide range of topics of interest to both the business community and to our general membership.  These breakfast programs offer an opportunity to network and share a meal, while inteacting with a stimulating speaker at the beginning of the work day. Student groups often attend and join the discussion.

In the 2007-2008 program year, the topics covered were: "Iraq and Beyond" with Congressman Tom Allen, "Faith in the Public Square" with Katherine Marshall, "Seeds of Crisis in Burma (Myanmar)" with Reverend Katherine Babson, and "Selling the American Brand in Other Cultures: The Wal-Mart Case" with Richard Coyle.

The first two breakfasts of the 2008-2009 program year are "Kosovo" with speaker James Pettifer on September 11 and "Geopolitics of Energy" with speaker Michael Klare on November 11.
